WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU BRING TOGETHER FOUR LIKE-MINDED CREATIVE WOMEN AND LET THEM RUN WILD?

IN OUR EXPERIENCE:

something cosmic.

Meet Moonrise: the creative studio and experience factory founded by seasoned outdoor industry pros Iz La Motte, Katie Cooney, Sierra Schlag, and Sara Beam Robbins.

With 28 years of combined experience, the Moonrise team has spent nearly three decades honing our craft into the intentional, distinctive style we bring to every project.

Through rich storytelling, bold design, and immersive experiences, Moonrise has built a dedicated community of individuals and brands who value the authenticity at the heart of our work.

At our core, we’re a

creative studio rooted

in THE power of inclusive,

intentional storytelling.

WHY WORK WITH US?

We’re a creative studio rooted in the power of inclusive storytelling. As experts in filmmaking and design, we specialize in elevating voices often left out—women, gender-queer people, and underrepresented communities. Our work is grounded in authenticity, mutual respect, and a commitment to representation in front of and behind the camera.

We’ve been told we’re too ambitious.

Good. We believe bold stories—especially those by and for women—deserve that ambition. We collaborate with purpose, center underrepresented voices, and create work that doesn’t just show up—it speaks up.

  • SARA BEAM ROBBINS

Sara is a filmmaker and photographer based in Crested Butte, Colorado.

Sara's work focuses on character-driven storytelling that amplifies underrepresented voices in the outdoor community. With expertise in directing, producing, cinematography, and post-production—including drone operation—she has collaborated with global outdoor brands on both documentary and commercial projects.

Sara's work is driven by a commitment to authentic storytelling and a passion for the mountains. She continues to inspire others through her films and advocacy, encouraging everyone to find their place in the outdoors.

  • IZ LA MOTTE

Iz La Motte is an adventure photographer and documentary filmmaker who splits her time between Utah’s Wasatch Range and the serene green spaces that surround her off-grid cabin in the woods of Vermont.

She has developed her craft into one that focuses on the human story and its relation to the world. Iz believes that everyone has a story to tell. Her passion lies in working with individuals and brands to tell their own impactful stories in a way that feels true to them.

Her work can be seen in print publications, throughout the film festival circuit, and in marketing campaigns across the outdoor industry.

  • KATIE COONEY

Katie is a multi-hyphenate creative based in Driggs, Idaho. She keeps herself busy as a photographer, illustrator, and artist.

Raised in the Midwest under much smaller hills, Katie is our “CEO of Pretty Things” – the mind we turn to when we need something to look cool.

Story-driven artwork, images, and design with personality and color are her thing.

She is passionate about working with stories, people, brands, and projects that celebrate the intersection of expression, the outdoors, and an adventurous lifestyle—especially those that prioritize conservation, public land, and equity in the outdoors.

  • SIERRA SCHLAG

Sierra Schlag is a Japanese-American professional skier and storyteller based in Carbondale, CO.

She competed in moguls while growing up in Park City, UT, and her career has since evolved to big mountain and backcountry skiing.

Schlag has been an athlete and producer in a handful of films like Bloom, Advice for Girls, and NISEI.

She hopes to make the ski industry a more equitable place through the art of storytelling and community activation.

Let’s make the Industry
